Feelings Friend
A social-emotional learning companion for kids (ages ~4–10). Children check in with how they feel, practice calming down, and learn empathy through little stories — while their healthy habits grow a flower garden.
What kids can do
- Check in with feelings — pick a color zone (blue, green, yellow, red), then the exact feeling word. Naming feelings builds self-awareness and vocabulary.
- Visit the Calm Corner — guided balloon breathing, box breathing, birthday-candle breaths, and a 5-4-3-2-1 senses game to settle big feelings.
- Read "What would you do?" stories — short everyday situations (the last cookie, a new kid at lunch, losing a game) with choices and warm, no-shame feedback that teaches empathy, sharing, honesty, teamwork, and bravery.
- Grow a garden — every check-in and activity earns stars; stars grow flowers, streaks, and badges.
For grown-ups
A quiet Grown-ups corner shows which zones your child has been in, their most-used feeling words, recent check-in notes in their own words, plus practical tips and conversation starters for building emotional skills at home.
You can also ask your assistant things like "how has my kid been feeling this week?" — it can read the same summary.
When to reach for it
- A daily one-minute feelings check-in routine (after school or before bed)
- In the middle of a meltdown, as a calm-down companion
- Rainy-day practice for empathy and friendship skills
Feelings Friend supports — but does not replace — professional care.
