Neon Pulse

A rhythm game where you play the lead synth. The band lays down the groove — drums, bass, and pads are synthesized live in your browser — but the melody only exists when you hit it. Catch the notes streaming down the neon highway and the lead sings; miss, and the song goes quiet.

Features

  • You are the melody — every successful hit performs the actual lead note, live. Your accuracy literally shapes how the song sounds.
  • Four original tracksNeon Drift (synthwave), Solar Bloom (dream pop), Glass Tide (trance), and Ion Storm (dark electro), each with its own world, palette, and groove. All music is generated in real time; no recordings, no downloads.
  • Three difficulties per track — Easy, Normal, and Hard are charted from the same melody, so the song stays familiar as you climb.
  • Hold notes — sustained melody moments become glowing tails. Keep the lane held and the lead sings through; let go early and the sound cuts out.
  • Stunning reactive visuals — a retro-future highway with an audio-reactive spectrum skyline, beat-synced grid, glowing note trails, and particle bursts on every perfect hit.
  • Scores that stick — grades, accuracy, max combo, and full-combo runs are saved per track and difficulty, with personal bests on the track-select screen.
  • Tunable feel — master volume, note approach speed, and an audio-offset calibration slider, persisted between sessions. The results screen reports your average hit offset (plus early/late counts) and suggests which way to adjust.

How to play

Notes flow toward the hit line on four lanes. Press D F J K (or the arrow keys, or tap the lanes) as each note crosses the line. Tighter timing scores Perfect → Great → Good; build combos to multiply your score and chase the SS grade. Hold the glowing tails to their end for bonus score — dropping one cuts the sustain but never breaks your combo. Esc pauses (the game also auto-pauses when the tab loses focus); on the results screen R retries and Esc returns to track select.

Open it when you have three minutes and want them to feel like flying.
