Terms of Service
Effective date: October 21, 2026
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Amantru, Inc. (“Amantru,” “we,” or “us”). They govern your use of Rome, also called Rome OS, including the website at romeos.cc, Rome Cloud accounts, the Rome instances we host for you, the Rome desktop and mobile apps, and the apps we publish for Rome, such as the Rome OS app for Shopify. Together, these are the “Service.”
By creating an account, installing one of our apps, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for a business or other organization, you agree to them on its behalf and confirm that you have the authority to do so. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to use the Service. Give us accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us at yunfan@romeos.io if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your Rome and your agents
Rome runs AI agents that act on your instructions, using the accounts and services you connect. You decide what to connect and what to ask your agents to do, and you are responsible for those instructions and for the actions your agents take on them. Only connect accounts and data that you have the right to use this way.
AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review what your agents produce and do before you rely on it, especially before they send messages, change records, or spend money on your behalf.
Your content
Your content is yours. It includes the instructions, messages, and files you give Rome, the data your agents read from connected services, and what your agents produce. You give us permission to store, process, and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service to you, to keep it secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service, or direct your agents, to:
- break the law or help someone else break it,
- infringe or misappropriate anyone’s intellectual property or privacy,
- send spam, or harass, defraud, or harm anyone,
- distribute malware or attack or probe other systems without permission,
- get around the Service’s limits or security, or access another person’s account or Rome without permission, or
- break the terms of a service you connect, such as Shopify’s terms.
Connected services
When you connect a service such as Shopify, GitHub, Slack, or Google, your use of that service is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for those services, and they can change or stop working with Rome at any time.
The Rome App Store
If you publish an app to the Rome App Store, you confirm that you have the right to publish it and give us permission to host it, display it, and distribute it to other Rome users. You are responsible for your app. We may remove an app that breaks these terms or puts users at risk. Apps from other publishers are provided by those publishers, not by us.
Plans, payment, and credits
Some parts of the Service require a paid plan or Rome credits. Stripe processes payments. A subscription renews at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. We may change prices, and we will tell you before a change applies to your plan. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable.
Open source software
The Rome software is open source and published at github.com/rome-os/rome under the MIT License. That license, not these terms, governs your use of the source code. These terms govern the Service we operate.
Data processing for merchant data
This section is the data processing agreement between Amantru and merchants who connect a store, such as a Shopify store, to the Service. It applies to personal information about the merchant’s customers that the Service processes through that connection (“Customer Data”), for example the names, email addresses, and shipping addresses in orders.
Roles
The merchant controls Customer Data and decides why it is processed. Amantru processes Customer Data on the merchant’s behalf, as the merchant’s processor or service provider under applicable data protection law.
Purpose
Amantru processes Customer Data only to provide the Service to the merchant, which means carrying out the tasks the merchant and the merchant’s agents ask for, and only as the merchant instructs through the Service, unless the law requires otherwise. Amantru does not sell Customer Data, use it for advertising, use it to train AI models, or combine it with data from other sources for its own purposes.
Confidentiality and security
Amantru limits access to Customer Data to the people who need it to provide or support the Service, and requires them to keep it confidential. Connections from browsers and apps to romeos.cc and to a hosted Rome’s address use TLS, and calls to the merchant’s store use HTTPS. Rome Cloud’s database encrypts data at rest, and Amantru encrypts OAuth tokens before storing them.
Subprocessors
Amantru uses these subprocessors and service providers: Vultr for Rome Cloud and hosted Rome servers, Neon for Rome Cloud’s database, Amazon Web Services for App Store files, Cloudflare for network services, Microsoft Azure for AI models paid with Rome credits, Stripe for payments, AgentMail for email, Composio for some integrations, Google Analytics for usage analytics, Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, ClickHouse Cloud for diagnostic logs, and Statsig for rolling out features. Amantru gives each subprocessor only the Customer Data it needs and binds it to data protection obligations at least as protective as this section. Amantru remains responsible for its subprocessors and will update this list before adding a new one.
Requests and assistance
Amantru helps the merchant respond to customers’ requests to access or delete their data, including requests Shopify sends through its privacy webhooks. If Amantru receives such a request directly, it refers the customer to the merchant.
Security incidents
If Amantru becomes aware of unauthorized access to Customer Data, it will notify the merchant without undue delay and give the merchant the information it has to help the merchant meet its own obligations.
Deletion
When the merchant disconnects the store or uninstalls the app, Rome Cloud deletes the store’s grant, meaning its tokens and connection record. Customer Data that an agent read stays in the merchant’s Rome until the merchant deletes it or closes their Rome. When the merchant closes a hosted Rome or the account ends, Amantru deletes the Customer Data it holds within 30 days, unless the law requires it to keep it. Customer Data in a Rome on the merchant’s own computer is under the merchant’s control.
International transfers
Customer Data may be processed in the United States and in the region the merchant chooses for a hosted Rome. Where the law requires safeguards for a transfer, Amantru will put them in place.
Merchant responsibilities
The merchant is responsible for having a lawful basis to process Customer Data with the Service, for giving its customers any notices the law requires, and for the instructions it and its agents give.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in your Rome Cloud account settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your payment fails, or if we need to in order to protect the Service, other users, or the public. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including the data processing section, the disclaimers, and the limitation of liability, continue to apply.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service, or what your agents produce or do, will be accurate, uninterrupted, or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Amantru is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from the Service or these terms. Amantru’s total liability for any claim arising from the Service or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you use the Service for a business, you will defend and indemnify Amantru against claims by third parties arising from your content, your instructions to your agents, or your breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you by email or in Rome before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. This does not take away any protection that the consumer law of the country where you live gives you.
